Bio

I am delighted to be connected to the Project for Integrating Spirituality, Law, and Politics. Collaborating with the remarkable law professionals and students who comprise this organization has renewed my faith in the possibilities of the American justice system.

Besides attending Peter's "Politics of Law" course at the New College of California School of Law and his "Spiritual Interventions" course at New College's School of Humanities, I have participated in various publishing and literature courses at New College--and these classes compete strongly for attention with my studies at the University of San Francisco, where I'm enrolled in the quite interesting (and somewhat tough) Master of Nonprofit Administration program.

My current projects at New College include helping to develop this website, assisting with Peter's forthcoming New York University Press book, and serving as Grants and Acquisitions Editor for the New College Press.

I have also recently enjoyed the extraordinary opportunity to serve as permissions editor for "A Smithsonian Book of Comic-Book Stories," scheduled for publication by the Smithsonian Institution Press in October 2004.

My background includes copywriting, public relations, advertising sales, marketing, and management--mostly for alternative newsweeklies--where I once enjoyed the suggestive title of Corporate Romance Director. That role entailed managing personal ad programs by planning and hosting singles events, editing personal ads, crunching numbers, and designing marketing campaigns for multiple classified advertising products.

Determining how to best apply my knowledge and experience to the nonprofit world has been quite an adventure.

When I'm not studying or working (and sometimes when I should be), I enjoy writing op-eds, harvesting stickers, Tom Sawyering, and ferreting out curiosities both online and in the physical world.

I have recently signed on as webzines editor for a new connections-oriented website, and am beginning to wonder when I'll have time to sleep. Can someone please volunteer to take the little dog out for her walkies?

To be continued...
